How do I set up my Stripe Payout Account?

Your Stripe Payout Account is where the money from your sales is paid. Stripe, our payment provider, holds it and asks for the details, not Tack-o-Tack. You need it before anyone can buy your listings, not before you publish them.

Steps

1. Go to Settings, Account.
2. Choose your Billing country. Choose carefully: Stripe locks it once your account is set up, and it cannot be changed afterwards.
3. Choose your Account type: Individual, or Company if you sell through a registered business.
4. Press Set up Payout Account. Stripe's own pages open.
5. Stripe asks for your phone number and a code it sends by SMS, then your details: name, date of birth, address and bank account.

When Stripe has checked your details, your listings can be bought. That usually takes seconds, and longer when Stripe reviews a document.

It is not identity verification

The Stripe Payout Account makes your account able to receive money. Identity verification is a different, optional check that gives you the Verified badge, in Settings, Profile. Completing one does not complete the other. See How does identity verification work?
