How does identity verification work?

Identity verification is an optional ID check. Stripe runs it on its own pages: it checks an identity document against a photo of you. Tack-o-Tack never sees the form.

Steps

1. Go to Settings, Profile.
2. Press Verify on the Identity row.
3. Follow Stripe's steps, then come back to Tack-o-Tack.

When you come back, the check is often still being finished. That is normal: press Check again a little later.

The badge

When the check passes, a Verified badge appears on your account. It is about you as a person, so it means the same whether you are selling or buying.

If you do not verify, nothing is shown against you.

It is not your Stripe Payout Account

Setting up your Stripe Payout Account lets you receive money from sales. It does not give you the badge, and the badge does not set up payouts. See How do I set up my Stripe Payout Account?
