Why do some orders have 7 days and others 14?
It depends on who sold the item. When it was listed by a private user, you have 7 days from delivery to report a problem. When it was listed by a shop, which is a business account, you have 14 days.
| Sold by | Buyer Protection from delivery | The user who sold is paid |
|---|---|---|
| A private user (a User account) | 7 days | 2 days after it ends: 9 days after delivery |
| A shop (a Shop account, a business) | 14 days | 2 days after it ends: 16 days after delivery |
Why shops get 14 days
In the EU, a consumer who buys at a distance from a business has a legal 14-day right of withdrawal. That is why a shop's orders have 14 days. Switzerland has no general legal right of this kind, but a purchase from a shop on Tack-o-Tack has 14 days there too.
A private user is not a business, so that legal right does not apply to their sales, and the period is 7 days.
Where to see your order's date
Once the item is delivered, your order shows Buyer Protection until and the date. That date already uses your order's own period, 7 or 14 days. The period is fixed when you pay and does not change afterwards.
